Just think of the engineers that made these machines come to reality and work. They used slide rules, engineer rulers, graph paper, protractors, manual typewriters, and adding machines. They made the detailed blue prints so the could be manufactured. Most importantly, they had perseverance and imaginations that couldnโ€™t be measured.
The builders of these machines were dedicated and hard workers who took pride in their work.

Iโ€™m grateful and indebted to them. I wish we still had those qualities today.

The D9G lives again,Jeff with proper care and maintained these machines will last for ever,alot of Cat D9G and D9H were imported into New Zealand after WW2 to carry out the hugh Waitaki hydro scheme,alot of those dozers are still running and earning $ for there owners today.Alot of them have been restored and appear at earth moving rally,as per usual another good video,thanks Jeff.

Going to show us how you locked the turbo outlet elbow in place.

I was thinking steel wire looped then welded to make it a complete. Then washers perhaps with bent ears to hold the wire and the housing in place.

Back to digging.

I hope the replacement cast aluminum part was actually properly machined. Good to hear the D353 whistle again.
