I never read the book but I did watched the movie. It's a good movie. But in the movie her mum didn't have affair with the detective. She left and worked in an orchard,and came back later.

Just so you know the mother of Susie never had an affair with the lead detective. She was in a lot of pain and she actually left home for a while and worked at an orchard.

That’s crazy cause i also has the same experience but mine is only dream. I was so stressed out that week and i went to sleep and i dreamt i have morning briefing and my coworker all of them are crying and i was wondering why until my supervisor said that i died last night jumping off the bridge. And i was shocked, and then the scene change to my bf who is cried so hardly cause i died. And he said with a crack voice “why u leaving me alone, u said u will wait me to come and meet you” and then the scene change my family cried over me. And i was in disbelief and then i cried too, and i wake up with tears everywhere. That’s very sad dreamt i ever had
