Not only that, but they found that this is actually closer to full than we give them credit for, because chips don't have good packing efficiency (unless they're a molded crisp like a Pringle, which is designed to have a stackable shape)

Fun fact, it's also not air in the bag because then the chips would spoil quickly, it's a different gas like nitrogen or something similar because it doesn't cause the chips to oxidize.
