Jesus is quoting Psalm 22:1.
"My God my God why have you forsaken me?"
Now let's finish it, Psalm 22:1.
"Why are you so far from helping me from the words of my groaning."
Jesus's words aren't "why have you abandoned me".
His words are,
"How much longer will I remain in this predicament. It's all finished. The sins have been paid. It's all over."
Guess what happens when Jesus said that. The darkenss was removed because the Father answered him.
That's when Jesus says, "Father into your hands I commit my spirit."
You can ask a question not because you're looking for an answer, but ask in order to put someone on the spot, or get your request.

People donโt get it. God does all kind of things for our understanding not always because he has to. God did turn away from Jesus and Jesus had to be separated from God. ๐
