I did 10 Gs in the back seat of a Danish F-16 thirty years ago. My F-111F squadron hosted the Danes from Aalborg, Denmark at RAF Lakenheath in 1989. My pilot’s call sign was POL and the weather was not good enough to fly low level or do much sight seeing. We did a right turn from 4 Gs quickly to 8 and then momentarily to 10 Gs. I don’t get the classic high G tunnel vision, but started to gray out about 8Gs. In a side note, now that we are all old men in our late 60’s I see a lot of my friends dying early from cancer probably caused by radars and cockpit electronics. Also have friends with knee, hip and shoulder replacements unusually young. I’ve had two rotator cuff surgeries and three heart attacks before age 60. And I was gym rat. There has never been a medical study on the long term impact of the high G environment (none that I’m aware), but there should be. We are old beyond our years, but no complaints. I lost 17 friends flying F -4Es and F-111s for 20+ years, so hard to complain when you out live a lot of your buddies. Memorial Day is never happy for some of us. 🇺
