The Techland we knew & loved died when it fired it’s lead writer (for dl2) and some of the former devs from DL1 eventually left. Tencent made it worse with their only motives being greed, money, and monetization. It hurts.. :/

I mean alot of the DLC content in DL1 is overpowered too. I’m doing a new game plus on Nightmare difficulty and almost any trash weapon can be turned into a horde clearer if you have all the dlc. One of them lets you make a gun from very little materials that you can get right at the start

I think what Techland should've done, and I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but what they should've done is gave the pistol but with limited ammo and you don't get more ammo until you unlock the guns via the story missions

The event with the increase viotile spawns literally gives u a free pistol if u played it, so I was like level 3 or 4 when I got my first gun and after the event it slows u to keep it just without the infinite ammo but still a free gun

Giving ressources is a slippery slope but for the pistol, they already gave us the harran pistol for the unlimited ammo weekend so this argument doesnt really hold. And its only a pistol, they arent that good and they attract tons of virals, unless they gave a super good one.

The reason it's bad in Ubisoft games is that they specifically make it grindy so you buy levels. As long as they keep a smooth progression I don't care if they add paid boosts. Also I have a pistol without ever starting the quests because they gave one for free awhile ago
