This argument falls apart as soon as you think about it for a nanosecond. Yeah, youtubers can make "low effort" and "cheap" things. Thats the entire point. A movie studio can do it on a much higher scale and budget.
Though to be honest, now adays youtubers can do both with less money and time and still create something better because they actually care about their work. So I guess its a moot point

Not gonna lie, if this were animated it would have just been called "The Next Minecraft Storymode". After this explanation I kinda agree that this was probably better. Also, to hear that this was planned way back kinda made me feel guilty in the beginning for not giving the movie a chance after the first teaser (with all due respect though I didn't like the beginning trailer, but it was funny to watch in a positive way).

But that’s the problem. If it ain’t broke, don’t “fix it.” People make animated Minecraft stuff and not live action because it WORKS BEST that way. This looks silly because it’s not right. That’s why we hate it. I’m sorry to say that but it’s the truth. Also the world is mostly CGI. A live action Minecraft would work best in some traveling exhibition form, not a film
