humble request- it would be super great to have the genre name in the title or thumbnail or just.. basically some way to find these again when looking through them on youtube. a playlist would be great too. i just know i'll be coming back to this series trying to remember what a certain genre is and if i've heard it before, this could be a genuinely useful resource if i could only find anything in the way youtube piles shorts together

I love SOFT ROCK. Especially late 70s thru the mid 80s soft rock. One of my favorites from that era is Boston. They were one of the first to think of the "Quiet/LOUD" dynamic with More than a Feeling and their early stuff also had some well written but otherwise stripped back production. To me, they can fall under both the soft rock and garage rock categories cause they have elements of both in most of their work.
