That isn’t a problem, if the shell enters and hits the ammunition you’ll be dead, the turret flying off doesn’t make you any more dead or alive. Nothing changes except the turret is inoperable, which it would be anyways if the ammunition exploded

I thought this is about Russian tank flaws, but then most of the short is about the prototype Abrams x with features it may or may not have in the production model. It's like the Challenger 2 Street Fighter and the challenger black night, they are design concepts that don't exist outside of the prototype.
Then you use the design of the old soviet tanks (1950 onwards) with the exception of the T90SM, and T14 having ammo stored in the ammo carousel which is protected with the extra ammo that would be stored with the crew moved to an ammo container with blast away panels.

The munitions location in the T-72 (and variants) is NOT a design flaw. It's just a design that predates top detonating ATGMs.

There is not real design flaws, there are pros and cons for everyone. The flaw of M1A2 is that the loader can get tired easily and if it gets hit in the back, there won’t be any casualties but the crew are stuck in the metal coffin with anti-tank everywhere outside. It would be better to die

No any design flaw. Each one goes to rubbish can after take hit. No matter turret will fly away or not.

It's not a design flaw, it was designed as perfect for the job that the tank needs to do. It is still safer inside T-72 than having to walk outside as infantries.
The carousel did not cause the turret to be blown off but the spare ammo that being store everywhere inside the turret cause the explosion.

Small nitpick, the ammunition shown on the Russian model is the full shell, they actually use 2 stage munitions, the projectile is loaded first, then the propellant.
