I had an ex boyfriend who i wasnt with long. I ended up finding out that his mom had basically brainwashed him into thinking he had schizophrenia and conditioned him to absolutely suck at taking care of himself. He believed this so deeply that making decisions for himself was nearly impossible and despite this, she told him that if he got a girl pregnant, he would be completely on his own.
I spoke to her about it and i said so many times that he doesnt have schizophrenia, he doesnt have any of the symptoms of any kind of schizotypal or schizo affective anything. Hes just completely lacking in confidence and is anxious because of it. He has vivid and wild imagination stories about what he thinks could happen because his mom doesnt let him get any independence. And i learned the treasurer for her "non-profit" which she uses her son to represent is her best friend, and that shes been pocketing all the money every month and buying the bare minimum food, not allowing him to shop for himself.
When i lived there, she got angry that i didnt give her all the money i got from disability, and got mad when i bought my own food.
She demanded money after i left because he broke my rib, because he got a puppy and i ended up getting mad that i had to take care of it constantly and didnt have time to myself.
I was like "youre lucky i don't sue you, because he injured me and you're his legal guardian"
She messed his mind up so much that he wasnt able to do anything basic and lied about it, only to take advantage of him.
Evil, evil women are often mothers.

These are the worst kind of horror honestly. Manipulative parents and the 'mother' takes me back to Disney's Mother Gothel. These types are more trainwreck to deal with even irl where their children (typically SA survivors) are so deep into Stockholm syndrome and young people unfortunately does not comprehend well that the parent/s are harming them. Vowed to never work in social again. It changed my mindset about many things but one thing I am certain, it will surely lead me to jail.

Beyond happy you covered Blood On the Tracks. This manga deserves more recognition immediately, Seiko is one of the best villains in manga imo, not just a female villain, villain in general. Seiko is, no joke, one of the worst and most terrifiying villains in manga. She is not a monster, she is not a powerfull being, she is just a middle class mom that holds little to no power, and yet the damage that she inflicts on her own son is completly fucked up. She ruins every single thing that could bring Seichi happines, every single chance that he has to live a normal life. I have never felt so much anxiety and hatred to a fictional character
