Honestly, I don't even know why people are trying to make this into a huge deal. It's really not. Brandy clearly said, "There's a few that come to mind." But Halle Bailey was the first person to come to Brandy's mind in the moment. And Brandy didn't want to spend too much time on the question. No, Halle & Brandy don't look exactly alike. But they do have similar figures. And for the record, Halle Bailey ain't lightskinned & has never been lightskinned. Just look at Grownish as an example. Yara Shahidi is lightskinned. Halle Bailey & her sister Chloe aren't. Anyway, Halle Bailey could definitely play Brandy if she's the best actress for the role. Just a look Angela Bassett & Laurence Fishburne. They looked nothing like Tina & Ike Turner. But they both bodied those roles. And as far as Halle playing Janet Jackson, she could play both Brandy & Janet Jackson in biopics. Before Chadwick Boseman passed away he played Jackie Robinson, and Marshall, & James Brown in their biopics. And he was great in all 3 movies.
