I'm guessing you're in the Pacific Northwest, since Amazon is (was?) based in Seattle. There is a well-known fish market in Seattle which is worth a visit, and so I would recommend trying the seafood which the West Coast has to offer. My particular favorite is Dungeness crab, which is often steamed with spices. Whatever you decide on, I hope you enjoy your visit to the US.

I am delighted you’re having a great vacation here! What is your favorite food to eat in Japan? Try finding American versions of that to compare and taste. It depends on which region you’re in for food suggestions. I’m thinking you are in the east in New York area, so be sure to try such things as a Philly cheesesteak. If you get way out west, definitely try a sopapilla!

Visit the Pike Place Market....several excellent restaurants and food options to choose 😊. Definitely try the smoked salmon from the 🐟 market

If you're in Seattle, please check out the Olympic National Park. The mossy trees there look like they are wearing sweaters. And the cryptid Bigfoot shows up all over the place in shops near there.

You look so happy 😃 Well as far as trying different foods it will depend on the region of the country you travel to, do a little research on the area and you and seek out the best restaurants. Enjoy, plus you may gain those extra pounds you were wanting.

Please stay safe and enjoy every minute, lots of great things to eat all over the US, Mexican food is very popular, like steak , chicken , or shrimp fajitas with rice and beans and of course chips and salsa and guacamole! Also lots of people love Italian food like spaghetti with tomatoes sauce and meatballs or PIZZA!!! Ice cream cones in all flavors are great too !OMG Have a wonderful time!

If you can find fresh gourmet popcorn, I recommend the Big Chicago flavor (extra cheddar mixed with caramel corn flavored).
And if you're looking at candy bars, the Midnight Milky Way is amazing. I've found it at Five Below in the candy area (a great place to sample candy from this country with a grab bag you can fill yourself).

So glad you are enjoying yourself! As for food, ask for the best local restaurant. Every place will have their own specialty, just like in Japan, like burgers, BBQ ribs, special sandwiches, seafood, comfort foods like stews or meatloaf, and don't forget to try the desserts, too!!

If you can find an Armenian/Mediterranean restaurant, please try the wonderful food.
Stuffed grape leaves are known as dolma and have other names. They are soft grape leaves wrapped around rice seasoned with herbs and spices. Sometimes ground beef is added. I prefer the dolma that are served cold and don't have ground beef. Sometimes they are served warm in a light tomato sauce. Each culture has their own recipe but they are all wonderful.
My favorite restaurant serves a "Lula Special" and I order it every single time. I'm not sure what the proper name is, but it is ground beef and ground lamb spread on pita bread, folded over, browned in a pan and served with an incredible dipping sauce.
Mediterranean food is flavorful but it isn't spicy or deep fried. Please try it.

I am so glad you started in Seattle! Take a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and catch the BI Ride to Bloedel Reserve (it’s a $2 ride, and the bus stop is very close to the entrance and gift shop). It’s open from 11am to 4pm. Bloedel Reserve is a beautiful nature reserve that was previously the private estate of the Bloedel family. It is a combination of natural forest and curated gardens and a beautiful water view at the end of one of the trails.
