Paramount decided against proceeding with the film, but Miramax picked it up ā and added $8 million to help finish the production. After some rewrites, Leeās remaining scenes were completed using a stunt double and CGI effects. The Crowās long hair ā and the dark, grimy nature of the film's cinematography ā helped make this subterfuge convincing.
The film was a hit and spawned a sequel, this time with The Crow played by Vincent PĆ©rez.
