Fi diddle lie day! This is Classical Music of the Highest degree! And Banjo Hicks, you play it PLUM GOOD! The Heart of Mountain Music is no different than Bach or Mozart. Sure, folks will argue the point but the Heart and Soul and Spirit that went into these songs is the same. When one looks into the materials at hand, a fret less banjo made from the forest and old ground hog is no less that the maple, mahogany or satin wood. Blacksmiths used to anvil out strings and these ancient songs fill the Heart with the emotions intended. When you think of classical training or listening to Grandma or Grandpa singing and playing, the Spirit is perhaps even more real than degrees. Anyway, playing music myself and living in the mountains of Kentucky for a few years, I learned the knowledge of many degrees in many fields. And the professors had the degrees of many generations.
