It’s Recycle Week and it's important more than ever to recycle resources - but that doesn’t mean putting everything into your kerbside bin 🙈
Many items labelled as ‘recyclable’ have to be recycled in special facilities or taken to different drop off points. 📍
There are huge costs associated with sorting incorrect waste at a recycling plant. And we’re the one’s paying for it via our council tax! 💰
Some commonly wish-cycled items include:
Toothpaste tubes - instead take to a local recycling centre
Plastic film (yoghurt pot lids etc) - instead recycle with soft plastics at a supermarket
Blister packets - instead recycle at @superdrug
Hard coloured plastic - instead take to a local recycling centre
Coffee pods - instead recycle with @podback_uk
Polystyrene - can’t be recycled, put in general waste
Vapes - instead recycle with electronics at your local recycling centre
Clothes - instead take to a clothing bank
Batteries - instead recycle at your local supermarket
