Thanks Dr. Syed! Excellent advice! I think a lot of people try to treat persistent and/or deep cystic acne with cosmetic skincare when they should indeed be seeing a dermatologist. On a related note, I once worked with a woman with really bad rosacea - much worse than mine - who was treating it with over the counter products. IIRC, Ernest Laszlo, including washing her face with hot(!) water and their special soap. She finally went to a dermatologist who put her on Accutane, and she had enormous improvement!

I went to a dermatologist who then sent me to an endocrinologist, it helped a lot but not completely, then Roaccutane came! My acne woes were solved once and for all!!
