I could totally relate to this, quitting only leads to constant relapse and has never worked for me either. The only thing that really helped me was moderation and taking longer breaks in between using

I feel like they quit at rock bottom because they realize it was the drug/alcohol that were ruining their lives they might get better once they quit and decide their okay enough to try drugs. Again and that they can handle it this time but if they fail and reach a new rock bottom. they have to realize that they can’t handle drugs at all even when their lives are good . If you or someone can handle drugs or alcohol without ruining your life then you probably don’t have a reason to quit nor should you have to

You are responsible for your own issues with addiction. It's up to you to change. And you have to really want to change. You pay the consequences . You OWN it.

You have to do it for yourself. Parents, police and doctors could not till I stopped for myself before i found out I was diagnosed with psychosis now I don't want anything to do with smoking again.

Actually true, first time i quit cause i had to and felt enlightened after the bad withdrawals went away - 3 weeks later relapsed and had psychosis for a week, forced to quit again. Felt great after going through that. - then found another drug that fucked me up even more and went into psychosis again and psychiatrist told me if i go like this longer im going to develop schizophrenia - quit out of not wanting that to happen and for the betterment of my life - now sober for 10 months 😄

Smoked weed daily for 20+ years and never been into anything else. I have a normal and high functioning life. I don't give a fuck.

Cool. And what if your life doesn't get better because late-stage capitalism still exists?
