Dal Baati Churma is a quintessential Rajasthani dish that combines three components:

Ingredients:

For Baati:

For Churma:

Crumbled baati

Ghee, as needed

Jaggery or sugar, to taste


Preparation Steps:

1. Prepare the Baati:

Combine whole wheat flour, semolina, ghee, carom seeds, baking powder, and salt.

Knead into a firm dough using water.

Shape into small balls and bake until golden brown.



2. Prepare the Dal:

Cook the mixed lentils until soft.

In a pan, sauté onions, ginger, and green chili.

Add the cooked lentils and spices; simmer briefly.



3. Prepare the Churma:

Crush some baatis into a coarse mixture.

Mix with ghee and jaggery or sugar to taste.
