Scott, can you make a video and tell us about the top 3 scariest people you’ve had to deal with in your career? Like what they were like in their behaviors more than “who” they were or what they did.. from your perception of why they were scary?

It happens plain and simple. You've just never seen it and that's a good thing.

I saw it for the first time last year - yes, they go black. Black, empty. The closest relatable comparison I can think of is how sharks eyes' are described.
He was an anti-social personality type with psychopathic traits. Very scary, disturbed people indeed

People contemplating evil may definitely exhibit black eyes. I have seen it first-hand. It may not happen every time, but it does, indeed, happen.

I don’t think one would see the “black eyes” during just a normal conversation or an interrogation. They “appear” when the psychopath is hunting/attacking its prey. I’ve seen them as an abuse survivor. BUT, I don’t think it’s some strange phenomenon where the eyes actually change pigment. I think it’s a combination of the extremely wide pupils, the “psychpathic squint” you’ve discussed, and what the observer—the victim—is taking in with their “animal brain.”

In that fight/flight/fear situation, with the victim’s visual acuity heightened and their animal brain going straight to complete focus on identifying dangers and information needed for survival as quickly as possible, this overwhelming and unusual darkness in the eyes would likely take much more precedence in the brain than the tiny slivers of the whites of the eyes that may still be visible, because this overwhelming darkness is unusual and “outside of baseline,” so in the end, that’s what’s remembered. The darkness, not the light. Just as with violent psychopaths themselves.

Anyway those are my thoughts. If you’ve made it this far, I thank you 😄

People who have been around narcissists a lot say they have seen this when the person gets angry. I wouldnt be surprised to find out it can happen.

I believe I met a psychopath a few months ago and his eyes were only one part of what I noticed, but they are what gave me the chills. I’m 60 and I’ve been in front facing occupations and social clubs all my life and I’ve never seen such “reptilian,” “dead,” unblinking eyes in my life. They say eyes are windows to the soul and I believe it. His were windows to unending darkness.

I worked with disadvantaged young people for 25 years, a few of those kids eyes changed when they would go into crisis. But I'd of said they went dark. Don't know what it is but it's definitely a thing I've seen more than once. We had one young person who was very obvious and as staff we would yell run! Cause that is when she would physically assault us.

I know for a fact that anger can black someone’s mind out making their pupils look so dilated, the whole eye looks black! It’s true! I’ve seen several times from a marine

It absolutely happens. Scott is lucky that he hasn't encountered someone who's eyes have turned black. My ex- husband when we were going through the divorce---- the black of his eyes along with the rage while he paced back and forth, THE scariest thing that I've ever experienced.

I looked after a man who was 32 years old who had a learning disability and the mental age of a 2 year old. He came out of his room one night and it was NOT him. He sat on the floor amd quickly turned his head (literally like a click) and starred straight at me and his eyes were just black. I ran out the room screaming and had to go and get another member of staff to calm me down. When we returned to the room he was back to himself. Was such a scary experience I will never forget it.
