1. Consistency wins. It doesn’t matter what your podcast is about the thing that is going to to help you win in your niche is showing up for your audience consistently.
2. Focus on your Audio- keep the main thing the main thing. It doesn’t matter if you are starting an audio or video podcast the quality of your audio ultimately is going to be what retains your listeners. You can have a $3000 video setup and if your audio isn’t good you won’t have people watching for too long. Invest in a good microphone or a good quiet place to record with no echo.
3. Plan ahead. This ties back into consistency, but if you don’t have a plan for your episodes you will never be able to post content regularly. I would advise having 4 episodes plans in advance before you launch to give yourself a buffer for life getting in the way.
4. Define your niche- What is your podcast about? Can you define it in 2 sentences or less? If not you are probably not clear on the audience you are trying to target. My podcast mission for example is Helping people get to the work that they love through exploring the journey of others in different careers. You know exactly what to expect from an episode of mine!
5. Build a Community- share your podcast with all of the people around you and engage them and make them feel like they are a part of your show! Social Media posts, and word of mouth are great ways to start doing this. Make sure you are thanking them for engaging with you during the episodes and shout them out during a segment of the show! I hope this helps! Until next time, ✌🏾.
