I've tried many ways. $8 bucket from the farm store is the best.

Galvanized waterer. Pain in the neck....timely rating! Thanks!❤

I have the 5 gallons and two 3 gallons, and yes, it needs to be level and one of my 3 gallons; you have to fill it upside down and are slightly aggravating. I have a bunch of pavers, though, so it's not too bad on most days.

My chickens could not figure out nipple waterers. So I use the water cups. 5 gal bucket and drill in the bottom to install cups.. the bad thing is the chickens can break them if they try and stand on the cups. But no mess and no spills.

Are there any that are not made out of plastics? Don't want plastic chemicals leaching into the drinking water. Just using pyrex bowls right now.

Number 3 was always dirty. The #5 metal with a heated base is my winter goto. Although thanks to this video I did buy the premier 1 heated poultry nipple drinker to try. We will test it here in Mn to see if it is viable.
