Non-conformity for the sake of non-conformity is even worse, a convoluted version of the same thing actually. Also, conformity with a goal in mind without losing oneself is just good manners or even life strategy. Too nuances for generalisations. Dependance on others’ opinions is the problem, not conformity as such.
