In FF there's a scene where Larson saves a character from Blackbird (story) from dying in a memory. And, apparently, that actually changed the outcome of the original story. So... yeah, if we save the kids in the memory, we might ACTUALLY save them irl. But that's obviously not gonna happen, specially if the game ends up being an in-universe videogame as I've been theorizing.
