🔥 I’m ALWAYS trying to incorporate more core work into my workouts! By “Core” I mean your deep core stabilizers- transverse abdominis, multifidus, diaphragm, and pelvic floor.

❓Are these muscles important even if I’m not pregnant, have never been pregnant, and/or don’t plan to?
✅ Yes

✅ Your Core is a system of deep stabilizing muscles of the trunk
✅ Pelvic floor muscles respond to load placed on them and increase/ decrease contraction depending on demand to match rises in intra-abdominal pressure (think coughing or sneezing for example)
✅ Research indicates that integrating proper breathing and activation during functional exercise are beneficial for women who suffer from incontinence and can help prevent incontinence during pregnancy, but it’s not limited to pregnancy or PP— anyone can have these symptoms

👆🏼 The examples I provided today are different ways you can incorporate more core stabilization into your workout:
1. Take one limb out of equation like standing on one leg
2. Take two limbs out of equation like standing on opposite arm/leg
3. Half kneel stance (the more narrow, the harder)
4. Staggered stance (⬆️narrow, ⬆️challenge)
