Lol, I've had durian and jack fruit. Very similar. Try jack fruit in a curry version like you stir fry spinach. It's delicious. Not sure if Durian will turn out the same.

Durian desserts taste amazing.
It's smell is unique, but if you smelt it for the first time without an expectation of repulsion you would find it alluring.
There's a reason why people are willing to pay a lot for it.
Rotting onions? Kinda but sweet and different.
