Unfortunately this test was not accurate as the smashing head did not make a direct hit. Energy did not only go into the bike as it continued moving after impact as well as rotating the head.

I had a shit carrera that I would ride around and I used to ride down two or three stairs and then the derailleur would fold into the wheel and I went through 10 derailleurs in the space of 2 months constantly tinkering with the tension and it always broke and I’ve now given up on riding bikes thanks to shimano or however you spell it

The whole idea of the derailer hanger was to protect the frame from damage. Calling it sacrificial is accurate.
