Also, the back in my day argument doesn't work, because every kid was different in every decade. When I was a tween from 2009-2012, I didn't wear makeup at all, and I knew plenty of girls who also didn't wear it, but I knew plenty of girls my age who had their faces buried in foundation and eyeshadow. It really depends on the kid, their parents, how much money they had, etc. It still applies today.

Back in my day it was apricot skin scrub (so bad for you), Covergirl cream foundation (which at that time the formula was only a step up from DreamMousse), a glitter liner if you were fancy and your school allowed it, and Lipsmackers. You were a CoolGirl™️ if you had Eos lip balm.
I think kids should have access to makeup though (to learn/experiment), but KID MAKEUP. What happened to a good Claires palette, a drugstore hello kitty lipbalm, a basic foundation for kids getting acne early who feel bad about it.... Why are The Youths going after the kind of makeup they shouldn't start caring about till 15-16
