/ @makeitlabchannel We decided to 3D-print an “airless” basketball out of PA6 (nylon) carbon fiber-reinforced filament. After printing the ball, we covered it in sand and annealed it at 90 degrees Celsius for 6 hours. Next, we weighed the ball and gave it a drop/bounce test. TL/DR – it ended up splitting in half after the first bounce. We will be focusing on more flexible filament in the near future, so be sure to subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss out on any future videos!
