Titanfall 1 had many many faults. But they were bold, made strange and new decisions, and even if they often didn't work (like multiplayer campaigns) they were unique. And that I respected. And they absolutely crushed the art direction and atmosphere.
Then EA came along and told them to fall in line with the others.

TItanfall 1 was the first PC game my dad let me play at the age of 7, my extreme gaemer tactics were to: abuse the smart pistol, play nothing but frontier defense and always shoot the red, glowy power things in some of the maps

Unless you were around at the time playing gams. I can't overstate how awesome and cool Titanfall 1 seemed. It was really fun to play, if a bit lacking in content. But these big open maps with lots of AI running around, might seem trivial today, but was big step going from the 360 generation to the new generation.

Man I miss titanfall 1, I miss the visuals, I miss the rc10 and it's goofy ass iron sights that honestly make perfect sense, I miss the simple titans and the basic ass maps that made the multi-player so fun. Titanfall 2 improved on damn near everything and was still great but it's how simple titanfall 1 was that made it great
