This video captures a special performance by William Okajima and Gianna Theodore, members of Kyle Abraham's company A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, inside the exhibition “Social Abstraction,” which closes today, August 30, at Gagosian, Beverly Hills. The duo performed a new piece, “2x4” (working title), which was chosen by Abraham in response to the exhibition’s themes.

The intergenerational assembly of Black artists in the exhibition—which is curated by Antwaun Sargent and includes Abraham—moves between and beyond the poles of abstraction and figuration to explore the intersections of nonrepresentational form and social consciousness.
