30 years ago, back in 1994.
One of my all-time favorite movies has changed my life forever.
Itâs none other than, The Mask with Jim Carrey.
This was the movie, that made me a huge Jim Carrey fanboy since when I was a kid.
Jim Carreyâs dual performance as Stanley Ipkiss & The Mask became very inspiring to me as a kid.
I couldnât stop quoting the lines, re-create scenes from the movie.
I even performed Cuban Pete for a musical theater audition for my high school play.
Outside of Jim Carreyâs iconic performance.
It was the introduction of Cameron Diaz, who became my first celebrity crush when it was young.
Also, the dog Milo became the inspiration of why I named my last puppy Milo.
And as for the movie itself, itâs my favorite comic book movie adaptation thatâs not based on Marvel or DC.
Even though, itâs not as violent like the comics.
But thanks to casting Jim Carrey, itâs a fun and enjoyable comedy.
It has the balance of action, romance, a crime thriller, a live action wacky cartoon come to live, a musical at times, with amazing visual effects that still holds up to this day.
I donât think thereâs any other movie, thatâs like The Mask.
Itâs one of my top 5 favorite Jim Carrey movies of all time.
But itâs also one of my favorite movies ever.
It made me believe, that I can entertain my audience with my range of skills to perform.
So I wouldnât to feel super inspired, if it werenât for this being one of my inspirations to become an entertainer.
Even 30 years later, The Mask is a SSSSMOKIN cinematic masterpiece.
Also, even though we never got that true proper sequel to The Mask with Jim Carrey.
(Ignoring Son Of The Maskâs existence)
Iâm forever grateful for this one and only film adaptation of The Mask.
Thanks to the lead actor, the filmmaking, and the creativity that feel so alive from watching this film.
Now⌠SOMEBODY STOP ME, before I ramble long ass speech essay about this nostalgic film.
