Most likely its a blank to fill the space where an optional additional camera or other device would go. This would be confirmed on the wiring diagram: if there are wires in the harness going to the area, chances are that its an option or space provided for a future device.

Just do a little bit more research before spreading some misinformation It could be fake and it's put there on purpose just like fake buttons or it could be a different kind of sensor I'm not sure You can always ask the manufacturer

It is like the 'fake' button slots in most other cars. The little dashboard cutouts that manufacturers put in, but don't go to anything.
