It’s why, as much as I want to hold tight to my kids, I know I can’t. Tight grips don’t make a good legacy and they don’t serve your kids. Creating good legacy means moving others forward. It isn’t about us. It’s about them.
Your kids need to learn to grow into adults who don’t rely on you.
Parents also need a plan to care for your kids if something happens to you while they’re young. A common reason why parents don’t get an estate plan in place is getting stuck on figuring out who should care for your kids if you can’t.
