Its been a while since ive done this but im pretty sure the OT ID is reset each time so they act like traded pokemon. The other downside i can think of is they dont show in the dex so you still need to trade for these if youre wanting to complete the dex

I wonder if this works beyond Pallet Town? Can you use this to save/ reset from any point in the game back to the start?
I'm imagining warping back through time and spawning in with a full party of level 100s
Also, does this softlock the game if you fill your party before picking up a starter because it'll have nowhere to go or does it immediately go to the box
