When a property is listed “as is”, it generally means that it’s being sold in its current condition.
The seller does not intend to make any repairs or improvements before the sale. Essentially, the buyer is accepting the property with all its faults, whether they are visible or not.
The home may be priced lower which is great for investors looking for fixer uppers. But, “as is” can be a red flag.

You still have the right to do inspections so that you understand the exact condition of the property​. If an inspector finds major issues, you may be able to negotiate with the seller, or decide not to move forward with the purchase. In many areas, sellers are legally required to disclose known defects or issues with the property.

Some lenders may be hesitant to finance properties that are sold “as is”. So, consider all financing options.
