Pirates of the Caribbean started out as a fun ride then became a successful movie IP. I think Disney should start with new IPs with rides being the start and if successful then movies. Instead Disney does not want to chance anything new and just using the old IPs.

I get it original IP attraction are like an extinct species still Disneyland had there popular attractions based on Peter Pan to Mr. Toad and newer rides like Tina's Bayou Adventure & Tron Lightcycle Run are considered the best rides at the Parks plus Tokyo DisneySea have created Fantasy Springs
