I think that James Gunn is trying to give us what we wanted from Henry Cavill but also what we had with Christopher Reeve. This perfectly sums up what Superman should be, a symbol of hope. Snyder wanted his Superman to be broken down and slowly build to the more hopeful iteration we know. Shame we donāt get to see what Snyder and Cavill had planned for Man of Steel 2, but like my guy saidā¦ I love Henry Cavillās Superman but I love the character of Superman way more.
