Here's part of the reasons why pilots are still required in airplanes. A quick clip showing you the accuracy of the Predictive Lightning function of the 737 MAX's weather radar system.
According to the Flight Crew Operations Manual the Predictive Lightning function shows "Conditions in the associated weather cell are conducive to the development of Lightning".

Just one question: WHERE IS THAT WEATHER CELL?!

Maybe WXR spotted "too wet for that weather" air area or turbulent zone?

Well…judging from the 95nm to your next fix, and the position of the predicted hazard against the 80nm range arc on the ND, looks like it’s about 110nm or so on the 110 deg HDG… could be a small isolated convective cell. Likely just the algorithm mixing up some attenuation though, who knows. If it said like 20nm dead ahead that would be awful.

MS hasn't released access to the weather system yet. Duh! 😂

If the fleet is equipped with the latest wxr, I believe there is a feature that wxr would keep a "hot spot" weather database associated with the location, so if an area frequently has some weather the wxr would display this on the ND despite the weather might be clear.

I don't know why we expect PMDG to have a working radar when even Boeing can't get it working.

To be fair, you shouldn’t be looking at 20 miles out from you but 160 like it’s in the picture on the navigation display

Looks like you set the DU range to 150NM, clearly our eyes can't see that far.
