This is not a trick or a secret it is simply part of musical Theory. that's how key signatures are constructed. It's based on the circle of fifths of course.

Or you just learn that 2 sharps is the key of D major or B minor. Seems like learning tricks to know a thing is harder than just learning the thing. My 2 cents...

I find the sharps very predictable..
Every new one on the right side of the circle of 5ths
Also has the sharp of the previous scale.
So for eg..
D maj adds a new sharp
But Dmaj also has the sharp of the previous scale on the circle which is
Sharps found in G maj.

So g maj has one sharp
And D maj has 2 sharps.

And A maj will add a 3rd sharp but will also have the sharps of the prev 2 maj scales . Which is G and Dmaj.

And all the new sharps added are basically the semitone before the tonic

So g will have f#
And D will have f# + c#
A HAS f#. C# + G#

My question is that how does the flat work?
Is it as predictable?
CAUSE F FLAT
DOES NOT HAVE E FLAT
