I figured a sheet metal hook would be nice. I wanted something soft and smooth that wouldn't catch or cut or grab anything going through the gate. I figured I'd make it look like a finger. My idea was good but my pattern was very basic. Not very detailed, you could call it crude. But in its basic and simplistic form it functions very nicely. It's strong, fits the post well, holds the fence tightly and looks like a finger. It's everything I was looking for. The hammer finish copper color paint gives it a nice finish that will last for decades.
