Man i just find out this videos and grab my guitar to try out right now and man. This makes so much sense!! I have been watching a lot of videos on how to play chord changes and how to improvise correctly for a long time and i did not get anything so i just go back to playing the pentatonic of the key and thats all. But you explained so good and without going to the needless details. Man thank you so much, im going to put all that in practice for now on but with a little playing for like 15 minutes i really start to notice that im better now than before in playing cool melodies while improv.

you’re like the best teacher, it would be cool to see you explaining the fingerings for all the different chords you know. there’s like no one on youtube that does that, i talk to tons of guitar players who say they can only learn by replaying peoples tutorials and slowing it down to see their fingers. would be awesome to see your level of skill and teaching, brought down to those type of lessons!

I've been playing guitar for like over 10 years, but just always doodling and never really remembering stuff like this. I really suck and nothing i play sounds that good, videos like this make me think i just wasted so much time because all of it goes over my head. you seem like a great teacher though, i just think i should stop playing, it makes me depressed at how bad i am for how much time i put in

Didn't make it into the video, but another way to describe this sound is with its "mode" name, which would be Dorian. Always remember, Dorian is a standard minor scale but with a major 6 (not a b6), and is the sound of the 2 chord in a major key. Also remember, in order to achieve this sound you must be able to find and play the 6th of this minor chord, as that is the color note of this sound. Just look at your 5th, move up a whole step, voila a 6.
