I actually learned about this around the time that the original Metroid Prime came out. Some pre-orders came with a limited edition emblem for the console disc tray that you could swap with the existing one. When I saw that, I was surprised that it was even a thing you could do with the console and wondered if developers would make other ones over time. Sadly I don't recall any others being released. But I really like the idea behind the custom LED emblem!

Was an amazing console that was so compact, took very little space and easy to carry, the ability to hook up gameboy player and play gba and gb games. This console had everything. So many memories i will not soon forget and always cherish

I’ve actually known this since 2003. My grandma bought me my first console, the GameCube, while I was visiting over the summer. As I was getting ready to get picked up by my dad and driven home, she accidentally dropped it down the stairs and the logo popped off. Everyone thought she broke the GameCube but that thing is like the Nokia Phone of consoles. Slapped the logo disk right back in and it hasn’t had a problem to this day. Can’t say that about other consoles.

The nintendo magazine had an issue that came with a free customisable jewel insert that you could cut out a circle of any image/ piece of art and put it inside of this customisable jewel insert and have it on the top of your gamecube. I had an image of Raziel from soul reaver on mine.

I work in electronics and started in video game console repairs. The Nintendo Game Cube is by far the best engineered system to date. The way they stacked everything together leaving the perfect channel for air flow while keeping a compact form factor... just amazing.

The Metroid Gamecube bundle came with a custom Metroid "jewel". I remember getting it on christmas way back, when the Metroid bundle released. Man was I a happy kid.

I just discovered that my house has a second story. There are a series of ledges that get progressively higher at a diagonal slope with a hand rail on the side of it. One day out of nowhere I decided to consecutively step up each of these little ledges. When I got to the top there was a whole new section of my house that I've never knew was there.
