I'm all about saving money anywhere I can, especially with the economic squeeze we've had since the start of 2024. There are still ways out there you can game on the cheap and one way in particular to save money on modern gaming. I'm specifically talking about how you can save 5% if you subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online Service, Playstation Plus, or Xbox Game Pass. Not only that but if you buy games digitally there's a way to basically get free money. I want everyone to stop paying full price to play video games, and this hack at Target will save you 5% every time.

Target has its own series of debit and credit cards called the Target Red Card. One of the benefits of being a debit or credit card cardholder is that you can save 5% off every purchase in-store and online. This includes purchases of GIFT CARDS TOO! What's awesome is sometimes they even have an extra 5% savings for cardholders, or if gift cards go on sale, so you can stack the savings to pay even less. It's basically like you're getting free money.

Big deal, it's only 5%, who cares? I can hear the comments section already. But if you subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online Family plan that 5% saves you roughly $4. A $45 Game Pass gift card now becomes $42.75. Do you have kids in your family and each one has a Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED or Switch Lite? Buying $100 worth of Nintendo Switch eShop Gift cards now comes down to $95.

The great thing about this hack is that it's not just limited to video game gift cards. Do you subscribe to Netflix? Well, Target sells a $30 and $60 Netflix gift card that, if you use your Target Red Card, now only costs you $28.50 or $57 respectively. How about food, do you eat at Fast Food places like Burger King, Subway, or Chipotle? Well, if you use your Target Card you can save on those too. My biggest one is I buy all my Disney gift cards at Target when we go on Disney Vacations, and we've saved HUNDREDS doing this!

In a world where everything is getting more expensive, this is a quick and easy way for you to save just a bit on your entertainment spending. And best of all, if you use the Debit card, you never get into a credit card hole you have to dig out of!
