🏨 Review of Fairmont Château de Laurier in Ottawa! 🍁
I just wrapped up my stay at this iconic hotel, and I have to say, it’s a mixed bag of experiences! The Fairmont Château de Laurier is a stunning historical landmark known for its elegant architecture and rich history. Here are three key facts about the hotel:
1. Prime Location: Nestled in the heart of Ottawa, it’s just a stone’s throw away from major attractions like Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal.
2. Nice Amenities: The hotel features a beautiful indoor pool and a few restaurants, including a delightful breakfast buffet, which we enjoyed for around $39 CAN per person.
3. Historical Significance: Opened in 1912, the Fairmont Château de Laurier was designed to accommodate the Canadian Pacific Railway’s travelers and has hosted numerous dignitaries, including Queen Elizabeth II!
While I enjoyed my stay, I found the rooms to be extremely small. If I come back, I’d love to try a bigger room to enhance my experience. One downside was the parking fee, which was $60 CAN, a bit steep considering you’re already paying for the room, but I guess the location justifies it.
We had a great time at the pool, and the breakfast staff were excellent. However, one night was disrupted by a loud staff member on the phone, which woke up my kids. Overall, it was a memorable trip, especially for my boys getting to pet Stewart! 🐾❤️
