I don't read to remember later . . . I read to lose myself in the moment now.

That's what makes it fun. You get to read it all over again like it's the first time and be just as excited as when you first read it😊

The great thing about not remembering what a book is about is that you get to enjoy it again.❀

You are not alone! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You're definitely not alone but that's partly because of how much I read, the new book often obliterates the old but then at odd times parts of the previous books pop into my brain
and sidetrack me πŸ˜‚

Pretty sure you aren't the only one! So many good books, who can possibly remember every detail of every book?! πŸ˜‚

Oh absolutely. I need to read a series all in one go so I don't forget what happened.
It also means, for the most part, I can reread a book/series and enjoy it because I've forgotten everything but I know I liked it because I kept it.

I definitely so this. I usually remember the plotline but not the details. When details stick i know it was a special book.

Yes, that's exactly how I used to devour new books. πŸ˜‚ I'd be so excited to read it that I'd go through it as quickly as possible, but retain very little. I'd have to reread the ones I actually loved at a slower pace if I wanted to fully take it in and enjoy it more and remember it afterwards.

If you don't purge the information you can't absorb new material. πŸ˜‚

When I get trapped in that cycle, my issue becomes remembering WHAT happened in WHICH book πŸ˜…

I started that series at age 10! That’s how I later on figured out that I’m ace! (True story)

I'm different type of reader (I read the most boring books known to mankind ...... business, self help , finance , fitness and health type of books ) but I relate to this at THE astronomical levels

Nah, couldn't be me. I have a prodigious memory for stupid stuff. I'm not going to say I remember everything, but I remember enough to quote bits of every book I've read I particularly enjoyed, know whether a book is worth re-reading and anticipate my favourite bits when they're coming up. Names, though? I could have just read that name and two lines later it's out of my head forever.

It's a curse when it's a book I didn't like. I went through a stage of reading books I didn't like to the end to give them a fair chance. Result: they never got more enjoyable and now I am stuck with bits of those books in my head forever. There's four particular books I wish I could scrub off my brain but can't.

πŸ’― Not alone. When a new book in a series comes out, I end up rereading the series

Constantly rereading this series. I want to read it again for the first time but also knowing the outcome calms me down during the stressful parts. πŸ˜…πŸ’• I adore this serie
