I wanted a pair of those soooo badly growing up, but we couldn’t afford them, same with converse which I was dying for a pair of when I was 12. There were 23 girls in my class at school and I was the only one without at least 1 pair, on our week long year 7 school camp to Canberra (the capital of Australia which is about 4.5 total hours between the connecting buss rides as well as a 2.5hour flight from my town) I was so upset to be the only girl not wearing Connies all week, but the popular rich girl who I was sharing a dorm with had a different pair for each day. This girl was stunningly beautiful super popular, school captain and super loaded as well, but to boot she was also genuinely super sweet and kind too, so you couldn’t even hate her even if you were jealous of her haha, anyway, she noticed I was the only one without and so she looked at my shoes after I’d taken them off the first night and saw we were the same size and quietly took me aside and said she was happy to share her shoes and let me wear a pair of her converses every day that week. That was 16 years ago now and to this day I can’t tell you just how much it meant or what an impact it had on my self esteem that whole week and for a good while afterwards. I was lucky and my grandparents went in with my mum for Christmas (I think they paid 2/3 and mum paid 1/3) and got me a cool a clue length paint that were pastel blue and yellow with a cool double tongue. I probably still have them somewhere.

I literally used to judge how hot a guy was by the skate shoes he wore. The Etnies guys were okay, the DC guys were better, but the Osiris guys were always the hottest 😂 🤷

Concerts are a sad sad loss.. ticket prices are super high and they charge service and delivery fees on top of it. I hate that it's out of reach for most young people.

My friend’s first boyfriend was obsessed with Etnies😂. So many skater boys who didn’t skate but hey we live in Orange County and Laguna Beach was big on tv and Stephen Coletti skated so if you were a preteen or teen boy in 2004 you wore Etnies even if you didn’t skate

They were one of the most uncomfortable shoes ever! I wore them 3 times in 3 years… once a year was enough not wanting them on my feet for another year until was purge time and I tried again. Blisters and pain, super stiff and heavy.
I do only groundies or vivo now.
