In Aikido, there is no âWayâ except the path of confronting âthe enemy that lies within oneselfâ. Aikido is a path of dogged perseverance and dedication to improving both spirit and body. The recognition and acceptance of this aspect of training is the surest means to steady progress and personal progression. I think it's not about getting better than the teacher. The teacher is much more motivation and inspiration and therefore a role model. How much scope AIKIDO has to develop further is determined by the association and the extended families who get a name from the examination fees and other things. AIKIDO will automatically adapt to the current circumstances because only then will there be consumers.
