Day 1 in Video clips - Rethymno Crete 🇬🇷 26th October

Our first time in Crete and I decided to base in Rethymno due to its ancient history plus its easy to reach Chania (beautiful town) and Heraklion (the capital plus where we will be getting the ferry to Santorini) and it’s really pretty and similar to Rhodes old town which I fell in love with!
We arrived late at night, went for a Gyro (Greek kebab) then went to bed!

Today, we had a chilled morning and had breakfast opposite the front door to our accomodation as we happen to be situated on the main bar and restaurant strip of the town.

We went on a 30 minute land train ride which was nice as we got to see the old and new town before properly exploring then, walked to the Fortezza which is perched high above the town - amazing views, amazing history… highlight of the day for me!

The rest of the day was spent waking around the town, stopping of for an icecream and coffee then going out for a meal at night to a lovely traditional taverna in the old town. They don’t do glasses of wine they do 1/2 litres!! Plus a free ouzo to finish … in bed by 11pm!
