I am dutch and there are cons to our very efficient agricultural industry. The land is exhausted and there are isn’t much nutrients in the ground or the plants that grow. That is why much of the vegetable is tasteless compared to other countries like Spain or france.

I grew up in a greenhouse. They’re amazing what they can do for food.
And even in desert conditions, you can use salt water to humidify the air, reducing the amount of freshwater you need to water the plants
