A forced open marriage and a relationship without discussion and proper consent is not polyamory (a relationship that includes multiple people with everyone’s informed consent) or polygamy (the practice of marrying multiple spouses) and those two are not the same either. What this woman did was just abuse, plain and simple. She didn’t love her husband, just wanted to maintain control of him. Forcing your partner into an open relationship will always end badly, if one partner isn’t willing to be poly when you are, you’re either willing to stay monogamous because you love them too much, or you leave the relationship because you don’t want to hurt them if you think you might fall in love with other people. Some couples may have one partner who only wants to be with the polyamorous person, and is okay with the polyamorous person having other partners THAT ARE DISCUSSED ABOUT. Some partners of the polyamorous person even become friends. This was not the case here. There was no discussions, just her constant demands. She’s an abusive cheater who pushed her husband away only to try and force him back into being in a relationship with her only (while likely planning to keep her affair partner around, because she probably only forced open their marriage after already attempting/getting into a relationship with the other guy), that’s all.
